IT ALL STARTS HERE...
The Dolphin Center at Dolphin Adventure was designed and built in 1996, after Dolphin Adventure was granted a special license to care for dolphins by the Mexican fisheries department. Our seawater pools are larger than the limits given by the US, European and Mexican Fisheries departments. Each pool holds over 2 million gallons of seawater that has been purified with sand filters and ozone generators.

WHEN ONLY THE FINEST WILL DO...
Dolphin Area One was designed and built in 1996, after the Mexican fisheries department granted Dolphin Adventures a special license to care for dolphins. The lagoon was custom-made and constructed on floating docks to accommodate the rising and falling of the tide, which changes the water levels in the marina up to six feet, twice a day. Dolphin Area Two opened in October of 2000 and, due to the growth of our dolphin family and the success of our programs, was expanded again in 2004. It is now a state-of-the-art dolphin and marine mammal educational facility with specially designed educational pools, an underwater viewing area, and a maternity pool with a special life support system for our expectant mothers and recently born dolphins.

Our staff has over 30 years experience in all phases of the marine mammal field. Our prime concern is overseeing the health and welfare of our dolphins. We are still learning how incredibly complex and intelligent these dolphins are, and it is an immensely rewarding quest. It is equally satisfying to share this knowledge, since it is only through a better understanding that we can ensure their preservation and well being.

WHO'S WHO IN THE POOL...
Our team of marine mammal specialists has been working with, and caring for, a family of Pacific Bottlenose dolphins at the Vallarta Adventures Dolphin Center in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico since 1996. Here is your opportunity to get to know a few of them, up close and personal.

 Aclina [Calm One] is a 32 year old female, who weighs 370 kg. She is Nouba and Ashin's mother, and likes to have her belly rubbed.
 Amizcle [Water Lion] is 17 years old and weighs 350 kgs. He is quite the ladies' man, and works hard to maintain his position as the Alpha male.
 Aqua [Water] is a 17 year old female from La Paz, Baja California, who joined our family in 2003 and gave birth to Ukalai in 2004.
 Ashin [Small Scented Flower] is a 12 year old female. She weighs 300 kg, loves to learn new things, and is very intelligent.
 Chirris [Little One] is an 8 year old female who weighs 200 kg. Her lively spirit makes her the naughtiest dolphin at Dolphin Center 1.
 Due [Number 2] is a 10 year old male. He is Amizcle's successor as Alpha male and second in command at Dolphin Center 1. | | |

 Kaitsa [Baby Rattle] was born to Aclina on April 11, 2004. This Huichol Indian name was given to her because she loves to jump and splash.
 Karina [Cute One] is a 12 year old female named for her distinctive under bite, appealing personality and gracefulness.
 Ketsi [Wise One] who was born to Tinda in June 2004. She is a beautiful dolphin and the pride of her mother.
 Linco [Bright One] who was born to Shani in June 2004. Linco is fast and fun, and his best pals are Ketsi, Kaitsa and Ukalai.
 Nachito [Chipper] is a 8 year old male from La Paz, who joined us in 2003. He is shy around males but loves to show off for the girls.
 Nemo [Little King] who was born to Nuna in February 2005, loves to play and often participates in the Dolphin Kids program.
 Nouba [Princess] was born to Aclina and Amizcle on May 22, 2001, and was the first Pacific Bottlenose dolphin to be born in captivity in Mexico.
 Nuna [Water Spout] is an 18 year old female. She is the undisputed matriarch that rules over the pod at Dolphin Center Two.
 Shani [Respect] is a 10 year old female. Her name was chosen for her peaceful ways, not because she likes to sing Aretha Franklin songs.
 Tinda [Flame] is a 15 year old female who weighs 300 kg and is one of Amizcle's favorite girlfriends.
 Tonalli [Destiny] was born to Nuna y Amizcle on May 13, 2005, making her the newest member of the dolphin family.
 Ukalai [Young Woman] was born to Aqua on April 17, 2004. She is the mirror image of her mother - note the marks on her dorsal fin.
 Yashui [Precious Stone] is a 9 year old female. She is very popular with the males because she is young and beautiful.
 Ygala [Strength] is a 9 year old female with a very strong personality. She sometimes gets jealous of the other girls in the group. | | |
