As marine mammal trainers, we are often asked about our dolphins, how we care for them, how we train them, their anatomy, etc. People are naturally fascinated by these engaging animals and many want to know more about working closely with them. We developed our Trainer for a Day program to provide people who want to learn more about training marine mammals the opportunity to spend an unforgettable day assisting our dolphin trainers. By actively participating in the daily efforts that are involved in the training and care of our pacific bottlenose dolphins, you will get a closer look at the fascinating world of marine professionals. |

WHAT DO DOLPHIN TRAINERS DO?
Dolphin Adventure's team of marine mammal specialists train our dolphins using a system of positive reinforcement to teach them the behaviors that will help in educating and entertaining people through our interactive programs. However, this is just one small part of the job. Our dolphin trainer's primary responsibility is to always maintain and enhance the health and well-being of the animals in our care. To achieve this goal our trainers work hard to ensure that our dolphins are provided with the highest quality food, aquatic environments, structural habitats, social and behavioral opportunities and medical care.

| Trainer for a Day Program | |
HANDS ON EXPERIENCE...
You will start your day at the Dolphin Center by changing into your trainer's uniform before meeting our dolphins and their team of dolphin trainers. You will be in close contact with the dolphins throughout the day while assisting our trainers in every aspect of their work including feeding and behavioral training techniques like hand signals and the use of positive reinforcement. You will have many opportunities to get in the water with the dolphins during the day. As a Trainer for a Day, you also get to help us out and assist our guests during the Dolphin Encounter and Swim with Dolphins Programs! This special program is limited to two groups of six "Trainers" per day at each of our two dolphin facilities so that you will understand more about caring for and training dolphins while working closely with them under the supervision of our staff. The Trainer for a Day Program is available to anyone who is at least twelve years old, every Monday through Friday. Includes lunch, a trainer's uniform, Dolphin Swim, Dolphin Encounter, a diploma, a DVD and a digital photo of your Dolphin Adventure.
